This is looking really nice, and I like the photos you’ve chosen. The only suggestion I have is the brown–I think that the color goes well with the site, but maybe there could be some textual elements that could be added to give it a little depth. I would suggest a drop shadow on the rectangle that holds the text, but that’s been done to death.

I think this was the most radical redesign I’ve seen so far, and I really like it. The suggestion of a shooting star or comet being used as the navigation bar is a really good one, and the orbits in the lower right corner really balances the whole thing out. Good job!

It’s okay–even us “non-blondes” (actually “going-grays”) had trouble with this. If you’re used to uploading using an outside FTP client (like I am), that Site Manager/”putting” method is totally foreign–at least for a little while…

I took a look at your folder on the server. The correct URL is this: http://bcts-potomac.aacc.edu/128b/07/mapexample.html

It seems you are dumping your weekly files directly onto the main server folder. I have a feeling, you’ve been pointing to your week folder on the Local side, instead of one main website folder.

He does move lightning fast through that video The idea, is that this gives you a quick glance at some of the possibilities with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and other Adobe applications. And, you can always rewind and watch certain parts again.

We’ll be doing more hands-on work in class, which will hopefully gel this information for you, and help you work through it.

The file reference above, is not a readable URL … it’s pointing to a file on your G Drive folder at school, which only you can see

What you want to do, is FTP the file through Dreamweaver, and then post a useable URL – it should reference the bcts-potomac.aacc.edu web server, and point to your file there.
